After the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, together with our sister club Taipei Jousai Rotary Club, we started support activities for Arakawa Ward and Kamaishi City, Iwate Prefecture, which is a friendship exchange city.In particular, the playground that was built on the site of Totan Elementary School through support activities has become a place for the promotion of sports not only in Kamaishi City, but in Iwate Prefecture as a whole.
Main activities
2011 | A field was developed on the former Totan Elementary School site so that many baseball teams could use it, and a dugout and portable toilets were installed. |
2012 | Baseballs were donated to the Totan Junior High School Baseball Club and the Totan Sports Boy Scouts. |
2013 | We donated two bats (Mizuno Beyond Max Gold). |
2014 | I donated my first mitt and bat. |
2015 | We donated herbicides and grass seeds for the maintenance of the grass grounds supported by Arakawa Ward. |
2016 | We donated a lawn mower to maintain the grass on the ground. |
2018 | Donated a dozen baseballs. |
2023 | We invited a women's baseball team (Asahi Trust), which is active mainly in Arakawa Ward, to practice jointly with the Karatan Sports Boy Scouts at the local ground.We donated baseballs and uniforms. |
